Since its inception in July 2021, The Catholic Social Services’ RideConnect program has made significant strides in bridging the transportation gap for our communities. As the program celebrates its third anniversary, it is reaching out to the community for new volunteer drivers to help expand its services and continue to make a difference in the lives of residents.
RideConnect, a grassroots initiative dedicated to providing reliable and accessible transportation has been instrumental in connecting individuals to essential services such as medical appointments, grocery shopping, and community events. The program has proven to be a lifeline for many, particularly for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those without access to personal vehicles. However, the program is dependent on volunteers and their availability to provide these services to individuals in need.

Why Volunteer with RideConnect?
- Make a Tangible Impact: Volunteer drivers play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for area residents. By offering a helping hand, volunteers directly contribute to the well-being and independence of community members who might otherwise struggle with transportation.
- Flexible Commitment: RideConnect understands that volunteers have varied schedules and commitments. The program offers flexible driving opportunities that can be tailored to fit around your availability. Whether you can spare a few hours a week or a few days a month, your contributions are valued.
- Build Community Connections: Volunteering with RideConnect provides a unique opportunity to forge meaningful connections with individuals across your community. It's a chance to meet new people, learn about their stories, and become an integral part of a supportive network.
- Personal Fulfillment: Many volunteers find that giving back to their community brings a deep sense of personal satisfaction. Knowing that your efforts help someone get to a crucial appointment or attend an important event is a rewarding experience that enriches both the giver and the receiver.
- Receive Support and Training: RideConnect is committed to providing its volunteers with all necessary support and training. New drivers will receive screenings and orientation to ensure they feel confident and well-prepared. The program also offers ongoing assistance and resources to make the volunteering experience as smooth as possible.
