The first Ohio Fish and Shrimp Festival was held in 2002, after the first crop of Ohio shrimp was raised the previous year. Dr. Dave Smith, President of Freshwater Farms of Ohio, wanted a way to educate the public on the health benefits of fresh seafood and the importance of preserving aquatic life, and have a little fun while doing it. So, the festival was born!
The 15th annual Ohio Fish and Shrimp Festival takes place September 16th-18th, 2016 at Freshwater Farms of Ohio. The festival attracts over 8,000 festival guests. Many guests come from neighboring counties while others travel from out of state and enjoy exploring our local shops, restaurants and attractions while they're here.
