The youth of Oesterlen have been busy since January planting seeds and starts preparing for the plant sale. Literally 1000's of seeds have come to life. Cucumber plants are growing wildly, the English Ivy is reaching out beyond it's pot. Beets, Cilantro, Coleus, Geraniums, a Maple Tree or two are all ready to find their way to your house.
"This is so great." Adam Sorensen, Director of Community Counseling Center, stated, "The youth have the opportunity to take a tiny seed and plant it. They receive joy in seeing the plant peak it's head out of the soil. They know that they were responsible for tending and nurturing this plant."
The Therapeutic Garden is exactly that. The children learn many life lessons as they tend and nourish the plants.
Come and support God's children on Friday, May 6th at Oesterlen Services For Youth, Inc.. All proceeds will benefit the youth in the gardening program.
