Who We Are
Mission: Neighborhood Housing Partnership of Greater Springfield, Inc. (NHP) creates and preserves affordable, quality housing and strong neighborhoods through partnerships of residents, government and business. NHP is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing and preserving homeownership, promoting the development and rehabilitation of housing, and supporting vibrant, healthy neighborhoods. NHP is one of a select few
HomeOwnership Centers and is a chartered member of NeighborWorks America. We are also a HUD-approved housing counseling agency. As a one-stop shop, NHP provides customer-friendly service in all aspects of neighborhood revitalization and homeownership support- from getting ready to purchase a home, buying and maintaining a home, and supporting community leadership's efforts to improve and sustain our neighborhoods.
What We Do
NHP offers the following services:
Homebuyer Education: A comprehensive, eight hour class to help prospective homebuyers learn about the homebuying process and avoid many of the common pitfalls. eHome America is a web-based platform for homebuyer education. Thls allows a homebuyer 24 hr access to education, thus eliminating any scheduling or transportation barriers.
Credit Counseling: One-on-one counseling provided at no cost to assist clients in reviewing their credit report, as well as how to dispute errors & make needed corrections.
Down payment Assistance: Funded up to $5,000 for DP/closing cost assistance to households earning below 80% AMI, purchasing in the City limits of Springfield.
Early Delinquency Counseling: In response to a continuing
demand from delinquent homeowners, NHP has developed a comprehensive program of counseling and assistance to intervene with homeowners who have become delinquent in their mortgage payments.
Home Repair: NHP offers several home repair programs for its customer base. NHP also employs a project manager to provide construction management services. Available In City and County.
Clifton Court Development: NHP has assembled land and comprehensive set of incentives to develop a new inner city "smart-growth" community.
City View Senior Development: NHP developed 12 fully accessible apartments for low income senlors. City View is fully leased with a waiting list.
